As part of TWBC's commitment to reach net zero, we are calculating our emissions on an annual basis.
As such, we are reporting on how our staff and councillors travel to the office, in order to understand the impact this has on the environment.
We are asking as many staff and councillors as possible to complete this survey.
Completing this survey will provide us with the most accurate data possible to understand how our commuting contributes to climate change and thus, what can be done to reduce this impact.
In 2024/25 we emitted 357 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) from staff commuting and travelled over 1 million miles to and from our places of work!
This is equivalent to:
Driving around the earth 40 times OR
900,000 kWh of electricity (enough energy to power 300 homes) OR
1.1 tCO2e emitted per TWBC employee
If you work in one of the shared services, please complete this survey ONLY if you are directly employed by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
Please fill out this survey and leave your email to be entered into a draw to win a packet of Candy Kittens!
