Proposed Changes to Parking Restrictions – Have Your Say

Kent County Council is proposing changes to parking restrictions on two roads in Tunbridge Wells: Dudley Road and York Road. These changes are designed to better manage on‑street parking and support access for residents, visitors, and local businesses.

What’s being proposed?

On the following road sections, new parking rules would be introduced:

Dudley Road (South Side)

Between London Road and Mount Pleasant Road

  • Limited Waiting:
    Mon–Sat, 9am–3pm – You can park for up to 1 hour, with no return within 4 hours.
  • Permit Holders Only (Zone C):
    Mon–Sat, 8am–9am and 3pm–8pm

York Road (North Side)

Between London Road and Mount Pleasant Road

  • Limited Waiting:
    Mon–Sat, 9am–3pm – You can park for up to 1 hour, with no return within 4 hours.
  • Permit Holders Only (Zone C):
    Mon–Sat, 8am–9am and 3pm–8pm

These changes aim to make parking fairer and more accessible by balancing the needs of short‑stay visitors and local residents.


Why are these changes being proposed?

Kent County Council, as the local traffic authority, is proposing these updates to improve the management of kerbside parking in the area and better meet the needs of the community.
