TUNBRIDGE WELLS BOROUGH COUNCIL (PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2019 (AMENDMENT) ORDER No.1 2026

Proposed changes to parking permits in Tunbridge Wells

We are proposing a small but important update to the Council’s existing parking rules (the Parking Places Order 2019).

The main change would allow people who work at Royal Victoria Place to buy discounted season tickets for Meadow Road car park, provided they can show proof of employment and tickets are available. This is intended to support local workers by making parking more affordable and accessible.

As part of this update, we are also setting out the current season ticket prices across our car parks, including the reduced rates that would apply to eligible employees. For example, at Meadow Road, a full‑time annual permit is currently £1,210, with a reduced rate of £970 for eligible employees working at Royal Victoria Place (or £776 for part‑time).

The wider parking rules themselves are not changing significantly. These still cover how long vehicles can stay, how charges work, and how permits are issued (usually on a first‑come, first‑served basis).
