Consultation on the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is required to complete a full review of all polling districts, places and stations (opens in a new window) every five years. This is to make sure that all our polling districts, places and stations have accessible facilities for voting and have regard to accessibility needs of disabled persons. The last full review took place in 2019, and the next full review must be conducted between 1 October 2023 and 28 February 2025.

In May 2023, The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) published its final recommendations for warding arrangements (opens in a new window) for the Borough. If approved by Parliament, these will take effect from the May 2024 elections. Given the need to ensure the new polling arrangements are in place ahead of the May 2024 elections, our review of polling districts and places needs to start now.

On 19 July we published our Notice of Review (opens in a new window) and draft proposals report.

Electors in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone and the Weald Constituency (Part) may make representations in response to the draft proposals. Any representations made should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.
