Consultation has concluded

In May 2023, The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) published its final recommendations for warding arrangements (external link) for the Borough of Tunbridge Wells. If approved by Parliament, these will take effect from the May 2024 elections.

As part of its final recommendations, LGBCE has created a new Ward to be named ‘Goudhurst, Lamberhurst and Horsmonden Ward’. This new Ward is set to include the parish areas of:

  • Brenchley and Matfield
  • Goudhurst
  • Horsmonden
  • Lamberhurst

Discussions have recently taken place amongst political group leaders and parish chairmen, and it has been unanimously agreed that Tunbridge Wells Borough Council should request to rename ‘Goudhurst, Lamberhurst and Horsmonden Ward’ as ‘Rural Tunbridge Wells Ward’.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council would welcome your comments regarding the proposal that it requests to rename ‘Goudhurst, Lamberhurst and Horsmonden Ward’ as ‘Rural Tunbridge Wells Ward’.

The public consultation is open until Friday 1 September. You can take part by adding a comment below.
