The council is planning to create three special parking spaces in Tunbridge Wells that can only be used by car club vehicles. The proposed car club parking bays would be located at:
Mount Sion, outside Lizanne Court
Prospect Road
St Lukes Road
If the changes go ahead, these spaces will have a rule saying "No waiting at any time except car club permit holders." This means regular cars will not be allowed to park there, and only authorised car club vehicles will be able to use the spaces.
The reason for the change is to encourage more people to use shared vehicles. The council believes this could help the environment by reducing traffic, lowering carbon emissions, and making better use of parking spaces.
Before making a final decision, the council is asking residents and other interested people for their views. Anyone who supports or disagrees with the proposal can send comments to the council. If someone objects, they need to explain how they think the changes could affect traffic in the area.
